I placed two single polyp stems in my tank over 10 days ago and they have yet to open fully. They are placed mid high in the tank and get med to high flow. Haven't noticed anything bothering them. Now and than a snail or shrimp will crawl over them and they close down to nubs, but soon open partially. (see pic below)
Any suggestions?
My parameters are:
Temp: 80
Amm: 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 0
Phos: 0.2
SG" 1.025

Oh? Well that won't happen if they never settle in to the tank and thrive. Any idea why they are so closed up?
My Kenya Tree is doing great

Hmmmm....wondering if my first two choices for coral are mistakes. Both sound like weeds.

So no guesses or ideas as to why they are not opening

Update:
The two Anthelia polyps have been fully extended and open for the last few days....and today I noticed two baby polys sprouting out of the base.
Apparently my 'weeds' have begun their spread

This just in, those two baby polyps are actually quadruplets :squigglemouth:

I like it But I keep it pruned and isolated in it's own little corner of the tank. And should it decided to go on a free float it goes in the trash, sump or the lfs for credit. Same goes for Kenya trees except I don't have one at the moment.

I now have a total of 9 polyps in just about 8 weeks......I may be in for a battle LOL

Trust me, keep them, because no matter how well they do, the whole colony in about a year will more than likely crash.....common with anthelia.
