Hello, i have ordered some Lyretail Anthias from my Lfs and they have arrived and are acclimatising. I have a juvenile Naso Tang in Qt at the moment. After treating him then i will get the Anthias. My question is, what is the best way to Qt them? I have read that they are very sensitive to medications. I usually use copper power for 14 days, move to a different Qt tank and either observe for 3 weeks or so or dose Prazipro, depending on the fish/circumstances. I am going to get 6 Anthias. Any advice is very much appreciated as i would really like to get this right, they are beautiful fish, thanks

Its usually not big problem with lyretails but, make they are accepting mysis at least before you buy them. Look closely at all the anthias in the tank at the LFS, look for discoloration or sores on the body (Uronema).
with anthias, chromis or other fish high risk of Uronema, I do a 1 hr Formalin bath of the newly acquired fish before putting them in the QT.
Then while in QT, I treat them with metroplex for 10days.
Also, during QT, I try to get them starting to accept pellet food .

Just my .02

Best quarantine method for use without medications is the Tank Transfer Method

I’d recommend this as a 14 day treatment (you can dose prazi at the same time) then a 2 week observation period before going into the display.

This also allows for frequent feedings (which anthias need) as you will be changing the water regularly - you can also get them used to a variety of prepared foods
