So I bought 3 anthias 2 months ago and they all die within a few days... they add some sorte of desease that its still a mystery to me. So I went to the store and he made me a good price for 3 others. Its been 1.5 months and they are looking "good". Except for one who is being bullied by the other 2. At the moment my hippo tang is going to sleep hes getting attack by the anthias.

So any suggestion to stop the aggression ?
Should i put him in a breeder box in the aquarium to let him heal and maybe after they will stop the agression ?
I have another 10 gallons on my desk with 2 smalls clowns. Should I put him with them and let him heal and put him back in the other ?
Or should I juste gave him to someone to stop the agression ?

Cause I dont want to wait until I found him dead.

Thanks for the advice.

A good part of his tail is missing and he is always on the sand on hiding on a rock.

How big is your tank? Reason I didn't went for a school of Anthias is the saem reason as you. I just got 1 Lyretail anthias same as you.
I would obviously remove him. But I don't think the beating and eventually killing it will stop unles you have a large enough tank for a school. If you do have a large enopugh tank got like 5-6 of them not 2.

i have 2 not 3 but I have a 80 gallons tank but i think 5-6 would be too much.
But Ive read online and can they be fighting to know who will be the male ?

you can either do 1 anthia or 3+, one will become the male and will look completely different from the females. the male needs more then just one female because they are rough on the females.

my mistake I wanted to say I have 3 not 2

What i meant by 2 is once you remove that injured one. Still then even, you will run in to problems with 2 anthias most of the time. (Unless some rare male).
In a 80 gallon you can easily go with 5-6 anthias. But obsiously you will have to consider your other stockign options. IMO go for 4+ or 1.

If you put a group of Anthias in a new environment, you tank, they will use aggression to decide on a hierarchy, not just which one is going to be the male, but also the female dominance.

You have put 3 anthias in your tank, 6 weeks ago, they needed to sort out which was going to become a male. If they all thought they had a chance that will lead to fights. Even when that was sorted the females still needed to battle for a female dominance hierarchy, leading to more aggression and the one at the bottom of the pile getting hammered.

thanks for the advice guys i found out that another one now is blind in one eye ( I think is eye is now whiter ). So I have now 2 injured anthias. I think I am gonna give the bigger one (the one who attack ) and see if the 2 other will sort it out without fight or else ill keep the one with one eye.

Thanks all for the advice and I think it will be my last group of anthias for a while I had 2 bad exerience in 2 months

Lyretails are notorious for picking each other off .... though they aren’t usually aggressive to other fish. Maybe your tank is too small or they’re underfed. Males are easy to distinguish from females.
