Is this normal behavior for anthias (these are ventralis)? They do this for quite a while, then one lays on the bottom. Is this how they establish their dominance? I have 5 total and the two others just hang out on the other side of the tank.

Anthias like to swim into the current, such that they are more or less stationary because they are swimming against flow. The way the flow looks to be set up in the tank is that it hits the wall and then flows downward, so they are behaving normally although it’s awkward because they are angled. I would move the power heads around some. They like flow but that seems like a bit much IMO. They are trying to swim in the portion that is diffuse and laminar, try to get that flow just not in the corner of the tank.

Ok, thanks. I'll try changing/slowing down the flow.
