I have 3 Red Belted Anthias females. One has started turning almost white on the body but its whole tail turns bright red and it swims very fast and darts from low in the tank to up towards the surface and specifically towards the other two anthias from below. After a few seconds it calms down and then its normal color comes back and the red tail fades away.

Is this one likely going to become the male or it this something else?

Sounds as though it is already acting like a male. That was a nuptial display.

Interesting. It is not distinguishable from the other 2 when it is just swimming as normal. Maybe the red belted dont look too different between male and female or i thought i have females but they are all males? Who knows.

Female anthias can begin acting like males before their pattern and coloration catch up.
