Anthias died. Sailfin breathing heavy

I've just climbed out of bed to try and get photos as the fish are resting. The tang seemed to like the light on my iPhone so I was able to get very close.

To me it doesn't look like ich or velvet. The line across his body has a series of small white dots and the ones around his face are more like scars of something that once lived there, like in post 37, slightly larger than the ones across the body. They are not pattern markings though, that's for sure.

The past few days the tang has been chasing the male Anthias and today I found the male wedged between the internal filter and it looks like his body is bent. He's not eating, breathing fairly slowly and very lethargic - I can pick him up without struggle.

I'm going to put a divider between the fish, leaving the Tang on it's own, possible until I put them all back in the Dt in 8 weeks. I'm incredibly close to giving up in this hobby. £10K spend so far and all I have to show is a few snails, rock and 5 fish.

Do I dip this and check for flukes?

Gave him a 5 minute FW dip without issues. He flipped a little whe I was putting him back (but didn't injury or fall) and then when he want back in the QT his body curled, he sunk to the bottom and air came out his mouth.

He's now gone back to hiding underneath the plastic pot I have in there.

In the bucket there are some tiny black dots and some off-white dots. (The bucket it white)

I noticed all of his fins look slightly worn/torn like the previous Anthias that passed.

Perhaps treat them all with antibiotics? In a weeks time I could be down to one Anthias.

No they were a lot smaller. I've tried to photograph them but my iPhone can't pick them up

This is bacterial, so perhaps Myxazin?

I think I would treat with an antibiotic at this point. Sorry for all the losses.

I've been looking at that too, problem is we don't really have any in the UK.

I read human antibiotics can be used (I have amoxicillin) but dosage and safety is a concern.

If you can get ahold of Kanamycin or Neomycin, I can provide dosing instructions. I used to be able to get both from Boots back when we lived over there. But I’m not sure if that was “normal” or the chemist just liked me.

In the meanwhile, I would use Myxazin over Paraguard.

I’ve tried Paraguard on bacterial infections with little to no impact. I know people in the UK who have had some success using Myxazin. Their ancedotal experiences are a better bet than my failure using Paraguard.

I would dose the QT for long-term exposure.

That would be an excellent bath treatment to use.

Known death rate when using acriflavine? Highly unlikely, as it is a very mild antiseptic. I’ve never lost a fish during an acriflavine bath.

One eye or both? If only one eye, dose Epsom salt/magnesium sulfate to help relieve the swelling. Dosage is 4mL per litre of aquarium water.

Myxazin arrived today,I've put half the dose in (5ml in 100L) and will put the rest in tomorrow.

Give this a few days before trying with Epsom salt? Do I dose the entire QT or isolate the one fish? It's just one eye and it's gotten larger today, literally looks like ti will explode!
