So I thought I had two carberryi anthias with my lyretails in quarantine. Realized later I got a male Evansi and a female carberryi?

Hmm maybe. Carberryi can vary in color and sometimes look very similar to Evansi, though.

I would gander that you got a carberryi based on head/body shape, but telling them apart can be difficult. Following along to see what others think.
Yes I think so too. Definitely not a lyretail, if those are the only 2 options of what it could be2nd picture I posted... right side... is the other carberryi… I think...

Thanks yeah haha I believe so. We ordered them for our club meeting and I happened to win them. They were marked as carberryi but I was having second thoughts. They are eating and in copper power currently. I'm hoping they make it through QT. They are a bit shy compared to the lyretails so hoping they don't go missing once I add them to my display.Yes I think so too. Definitely not a lyretail, if those are the only 2 options of what it could be![]()
Definitely on the evansii; cannot really tell on the other.
