Picked up 3 Anthias a few days ago a long with a CBB. Everyone is in QT and started eating black worms and mysis this morning. Started prazipro this afternoon and noticed the male Anthias has lost quite a bit of his tail. It does look like it’s been nipped at but I couldn’t visually confirm that anyone is picking on him.

Ammonia reads 0
Nitrite reads 0
And Nitrate reads 5

Is this something to worry about? What’s the best approach here?

This guy's tail has a particular raggedness to it that has me suspecting a bacterial infection. You may want to start the "trifecta" of Kanaplex, Furan-2 and Metroplex, _or_ Nitrofuracin Green if you can get it. A bath in a disinfectant such as Methylene Blue or Acriflavin might not hurt, either.

Can I mix the “trifecta” with PraziPro? Should I be worried about transmission?

I wouldn't combine Prazipro with that many other meds. Isolating him to his own QT will allow you to treat him separately (without prazi in the water.) Odds are the infection will remain localized because it is probably due to physical damage.

I recently did something like that - while undergoing an antibiotic treatment in my QT, I also wanted to treat for flukes. Rather than use Prazi-Pro, I replaced a day's Metroplex treatment with API's "General Cure". General Cure is a mix of Metronidazole and Praziquantel, the primary ingredient in Prazi-Pro. Had no troubles with wrasses, an anthias and a regal angelfish.

Bacteria's not as bad for transmission / contaigion as some other things, but - and this is important - listen to what Humblefish says on the matter ... he knows what he's talking about, big time.

Okay sounds good. I’ll give him a bath in Ruby Reef Rally and treat him with Kanaplex. Should I delay his precautionary TTM treatment until I’m done with the antibiotic?

You can actually combine TTM with antibiotic treatment, so long as you can time your transfers to coincide with water changes required for the antibiotics.
