So I have an anti-drainback valve in my return line for redundancy. I took it off and cleaned it a couple days ago as it was getting all gunked up.
Now whenever I turn my pump off it does this. Please note as stated above its for redundancy, I dont rely on this to stop my siphon to the sump, it's just more of an annoyance than anything. Ideas?

Am I the only one that can’t stop laughing looking at that?

I am right there with you, laughing away.

Sir, this is what I use. link and one can take it apart and clean it

I would take it out. Never been a fan of check valves.

For the most part , I’ve learend it’s really not a needed piece.
If the pump goes off you shouldn’t get enough water back in the sump to overflow it.

Pretty ticked I bought them actually.

So true, I just went with the overkill since I got the lecture about a tank with hardwood floors. ;) I read so many member not happy with the flapper type check valves and went with the Y valve.

Because you have the cool thing, called a basement!! :p:D

Well mister, basements can flood too! Gotten it wet many a time, too! Lol

Most of my tanks in the past have been sump under tank. Only one other has been basement sump, besides this one. ;Shamefullyembarrased;Yuck

Is your basement finished or unfinished?

Unfinished. Honestly if your sump can't hold the drain back, then reduce the amount in your sump. I know you guys know this already.

Fishing. I caught it on my granddaughter's Barbie pole! Lol

Yup, and the sump can handle the back flow, this was more for redundancy. I'll just remove it ;)
