Got a new flower pot to add to my tank and hasn't really opened up. All my parameters check out.

Will take alittle time..If you touched anything but the bottom i might take alittle more time.

First, you said any advice. Flowerpots are rated "advanced reefers" only. My advice is to wait until you have a tank that 1 1/2 years - 2 years old before attempting to keep one. Even then I'd say it's a 50/50 chance because, by the time you get it, it might already be on it's way out. My opinion is to get them only from reputable dealers whom have had them alive in their tank for awhile first. But you're asking about care, so, green water might help it to rejuvenate. Mine like Coral Frenzy. I feed them after lights are out. Also, it's been my observation that crabs think of them as a delicacy. One more thing - medium flow and medium light. High flow will cause abrasions on their tubes which they don't like and will not open and eventually die. And bright light seems to burn them up. So, all in all they need a environment that is specific to them.

Of course I knew it was for advanced reefers but you gotta start somewhere to get to that point. Taking all the steps necessary for every piece I have in my tank. But thanks for the advice

You should be fine do not get attached to this coral. The most advanced reef i know has kept one for 3 years and it has not grown at all and is just still alive. That is something to be happy about.
Next time your shopping see if you can find yourself alveopora looks like your goni but you should have more luck with it. I frag them all the time they hate hate hands so do not touch the live part. If not it takes an extra week to open.
