Any advice on fowlr?

Just got a nice 44g hex from a friend and want to do a fowlr set up as I already have a few mixed reef tanks and want to keep some other fish. Any suggestions on filtration? Uv? Protein skimmer? Sump? I have a canister filter rated for 125g and a coralife hob with built in skimmer. Was thinking of running both. Will that be good enough ya think? I plan on doing water changes about once every 2 weeks depending on need. Not really any room for a sump so don't really wanna go that route if I can help it. I'm hoping most of my biological media will be the live rock in the display I plan on using quite a bit and then just running occasional carbon, filter pads and chemipure in the canister. Any experience would be appreciated!

Honestly i'd just do a 10% waterchange every week and skip the skimmer. I couldnt find a reasonably priced hob skimmer for my 40 gallon.
