Hi, I think I'm having a pyram snail invasion and was wondering if anyone could recommend a reef safe natural predator of the pyram snail. Now I'm not sure if these are actually pyram snails but that's best guess I could come up with. Small (very very tiny) white snails mostly seen with the lights off.

Do they look like a grain of rice? You should be able to google Pyramid snails and make a good comparison.

Do you have Clams or large snails such as turbos that they are feeding off of?

In the past I have tried a number of Wrasses with out success. Wrasses sleep at night and the snails are mostly nocturnal.

Manual removal proved the most successful for me at least, but you have to be extremely diligent.

Yes I have clams and one crocea has been doing terribly so I'd like to make sure my maxima stays as healthy it can

Those are not Pyramids in my opinion, consider yourself very lucky. Those look like a relative of Collinista.

Pyramids will be found at the base of the Clam during the day and around the top of Clam around the mantle feeding, as well as in the chutes.

I would still check the base if possible for Pyramids just in case.

Does your Crocea have Pinch Mantle Disease?

The mantle did appear to be pinched and there we're worm like castings on the shell excreting a mucus all over the clam and everything around it. The castings appear to have a worm like head that would retract when handled. The clam is now gaping and not opening and also not reacting to light or touch as it should. It does react just very slowly. I've recently added an rodi to my arsenal to help rule out water quality issues in the future.

And I do find those snail's near the byssal foot opening of the clam and also its foot droped completely off about two weeks ago and hasn't completely attached yet.

Sounds like a Vermetid Snail.

The Crocea is probably a goner.

I removed the worm like things that were spewing mucus from the shell and it is looking a bit better. Mantel is fuller and it has started reacting to light more readily.
