I dont have any big money( lets say 150$+ for a small frag) acros in my tank but always see some beautiful pics on here of small frags. So i was wondering if anyone thats not a vendor has any pics of some top dollar frags they have grown into good size colonies say the size of a baseball or larger in there home aquariums. Just really curious to see some pics of some large colonies of these high end big money acros that started as small frags. Also if anyone has some, how many years it took to attain there size. The 3 pics here are from 20$ 2 inch frags, the 1st 2 took me around 20 months to get to the current size and the last one seems to grow faster as its been around 13 months.

Some of the trendy frags are not yet out long enough to have huge colonies. The large-tank thread, or build threads from the SPS folks have large colonies of the old-school classics like Ultimate or $500 efflo, PearlBerry, Purple Monster, Shortcake, OBT, etc.

Copps has a new thread on RC with pics of his massive colonies. The Purple Monster photo will make you drool.

That makes sense but 1 to 3 years I figured someone had a decent size colony by now. On the other hand it's quite possible that reefers who paid 300$ to 1000$ for a small frag might just not be letting them grow out at all by fragging them up as quickly as possible to recoup the $ and make some $.
