I’m seeing some “tulip-like” polyps on acros and in my reading some people suspect it can occur when boron or strontium are low. Unfortunately I can’t locate any Salifert boron or strontium test kits (out of stock everywhere). Are there any alternative test kids for these that are easier to find?

I was debating on doing an icp but I was hoping for some results faster than 2 weeks. Thanks.

I do not believe either of these two have anything to do with coral issues, but there are or were test kits for both that may have sufficient accuracy to be roughly useful. The Salifert boron kit seems to be out of stock anywhere I looked.

Both of those test kits have been out of stock everywhere I looked. Randy, this is what I’ve been looking at: https://www.faunamarin.de/en/knowledge-base/boron/

While I have my doubts and I’m grasping at straws, I figured it was worth a look? I’m having one acro that is bubbling.

If I were trying to diagnose a problem, I'd not try to guess what it might be (especially not these two) and I'd get a broad range of tests from ICP.

That’s valid. Any recommendation on icp? I was leaning towards the ati.

@Randy Holmes-Farley here are my icp results, do you see anything concerning? Some of my acros are not as happy as they usually are with some “tulips-like polyps” and one acro is bubbling. Hoping to rule out water chemistry.

Looks to me like I need to increase my tropic Marin elements A dosage based on some of the values?

I do not see anything that is a problem for being high. A number of trace elements are low and it may be worthwhile trying a supplement such as Tropic Marin A and K for a while and see if that helps the corals.

Thank you. I stopped trace elements dosing 3 days or so prior to this icp (I suspected I was overdosing), but looks like I actually need to dose a little more.
