Hey all,

I read a write up by Reef Builders about the Bubble Magus Z-series skimmers but have not found any other reviews. Haven't seen them for sale through any of the more reputable sellers (BRS, Marine Depot, etc.) and they're not even on the Bubble Magus site. Anyone know anything about these? Haven't been impressed by either skimmer I've tried in my 45 gallon AIO and thought about giving one of these a try. Please let me know if you have any experience with these. Thanks for your time.

Cheers,

Colin

Just my opinion, but don't expect to be too impressed by any skimmer fit for a 45g aio. A hang on may work better but can also overflow. I'd be happy getting anything out of an aio skimmer.
I have owned 3 BM skimmers and they're awesome for the price. The one running now has been going strong going on 5 years.

Thank you for the reply. I really do not want to put a HOB skimmer on my tank. I know that most of the skimmers that fit all in one tanks do not stack up to the premier in sump skimmers that are out there. However, the Z-series has a revolutionary design that is advertised to not compromise effectiveness for the smaller footprint, unlike most of the other AIO skimmers. The Reef Builders write up claims that it can handle 50+ gallon aquariums with a heavy bioload. Was just hoping someone with experience with these skimmers could confirm what Reef Builders is saying. Hoping that it isn't too good to be true. I have been happy with all my other Bubble Magus equipment, just find it suspect that I can't find this particular product for sale by any of the more reputable suppliers.

Have you been able to find out any additional info regarding the Z series skimmers? I was looking at these as well, but I am also hesitant due to the lack of reviews and places to buy one.

I have not. I went with the Tunze 9004 and it has been working well. Bubble Magus skimmers have worked great for me though. I was scared to pull the trigger on it but assume it is a solid product based on the one review I read and my experience with the Bubble Magus company.
