Any chance this bubble will make it?

Came in from a 3:30pm shipment looking pretty sorry last Thursday. I've only seen one or two bubbles puff up once or twice. I moved it recently to under my powerhead to get some uplifting, low flow on it. I think it's eating... at least food is disappearing down its gaping mouth. What say ye, any chance or should I start looking for one locally? Everything else in the tank is doing well except for a Trachy that was in similar shape.

Sorry to say it but that bubble is in pretty bad shape. You may want to consider an iodine dip at some point to ward off potential infections.

Wait.......their hardy. I have one that looked worst, had its head bitten off, and now is starting to grow back. Give it time mine is a fraction of what it was, but growing.

These things are pretty resilient, but even if it dies it's one of the corals that can pop the babies from the dead skeleton .

True. If there is any tissue on the skeleton, the colony can regenerate with time.

I'll keep that in mind if it starts looking worse rather than better!

Good to hear. My wife has wanted one since I talked about starting a tank and reluctantly dragged her to the LFS.

There's always a chance. You should see how I had a frogspawn and branching hammer both come back from a total polyp bailout.

Fortunately haven't had any issues with my Euphyllia, yet, except for one that was DOA. The rest are thriving!

That's fantastic. They've always been hit or miss for me....especially with peppermint shrimp in the display tank.

My peppermint shrimp picked at the Euphyllia and other corals constantly until I had polyp bailout. Once I banished them all to the sump, magically my corals started doing better.

Mine feel off of his rock yesterday right by my LTA. He looked okay last night...not happy, but okay. We'll see how he looks this evening. I think they're pretty hardy once you get them established.

Yea, unfortunately this was a shipping issue. For the future, how dead do DoA's require? It didn't look great the day I received it (first picture).

Wish I could help, but I haven't done any mail order items. I would hazard a guess that DOA policies vary from vendor to vendor.
