So I found a Caribbean Black Clingfish and I think it would make a perfect fish for my 5g but the problem is there's no info on them anywhere. Has anyone had experience with them? The main problem I've seen with clingfish is they need super small food, I do have pods in the tank and Live BBS ready to go so would that be good? Also how big do they get? I know clingfish don't get too big but would it be good in a 5 that has a lot of rockwork?

I think I was with him when he got them. He put them in and now only sees them maybe once a year....LOL His tank is loading with small food items to sustain them. Personally I don’t think a 5 gal would hold enough to sustain one long term. I think it would be very difficult to target feed them because they are so seclusive.
reach out to him, I’m sure he can help you....

Is it a stripped clingfish or a black one like I had? There are many types of clingfish and like what was said, you will never see it. I know where mine hung out so I would feed him there.

I have quite a few fish that I never see, one cusk eel that I didn't hardly see for 18 years until I pulled out some rock and saw him.

Hi so i have a black clingfish . didnt know what it was for a few months but was told all it does is eats leftover food in the tank and thats exactly what he does. I've had it now for 6 months and he just hangs out in my rock and in my clowns pot. Cool fish glad i found one.

Just snagged one from my LFS and made a video about it on my channel! Thanks for this video and info @Paul B always appreciated!

You always have the exact same things I have, agreeing we both loved oddball residents.

My lfs has one in stock. It eats like a pig, it comes up out of the water to grab food.

i just got 4 of them. for differwent tanks. shop take / home tank, and my brothers kids tank. all seem to be doing well and eat well and dont cause problems. I love them. They are super cool fish. I'm unsure why I havent seen them in local fish stores.

check out my video link attached

I had a black one that would swim right to the front glass and eat out of my hand. Had him for about a year or so then he disappeared and I never saw him again.

They're cool all right...but they can and will also eat small fish in your tank. I saw mine try to eat a pygmy whitespotted filefish today. Twice. Fortunately, it was as big as the clingfish, and it escaped, but those clingfish mouths are gigantic.

Just found this thread, my lfs has a black clingfish that it’s had for probably a month now and I was thinking of maybe getting him. Then I read about them trying to eat small fish…

They also have some barnacle blended I wanted and I have a small tailspot blennie already, would that be a problem?
