any fish that are sensitive to cupramine

Hello, I have been running prazipro in my qt and will soon be switching to copper after a large waterchange/carbon. I was just wondering if wrasses, gobies, or angels are negatively affected by cupramine? Thanks!

In general, those fish can be sensitive to copper- the wrasses and angels can be. It's best to take a week to get the copper up to therapeutic levels. Going slowly will increase your chances of success. Watch them for signs of copper sensitivity and remove the copper if that happens.

In general, these fish are considered sensitive to copper: angels, wrasses, lionfish, puffers, dragonets/mandarins, seahorses/pipefish, any "scaleless" fish like sharks & rays.

I've not found any fish except NEW halichoeres to be sensitive to copper, specifically cupramine. I've not tried with fairy wrasses as of yet, however.

Established halichoeres wrasse seem to do just fine which has puzzled me, but new purchases always seem to die. :Shrug:

Just increase copper levels slowly, watch ammonia (buy sea chem's ammonia badge), and make sure there is lots of oxygen. Don't mix medicines, and do not use any ammonia nitrite or nitrate detoxifiers such as amquel or prime.
