I am looking for something that gives some basic info on what chemical enhances which color. I know there are some definite correlations, but havent seen any articles on it.

am I not making sense or are there no good reads about what additives boost certain colors?

Hhhmmm, I'm familiar with discussions of lighting enhancing colors, but nothing on chemical additives comes to mind.

There are no articles because there is no real evidence. You will find some people who claim this additive brings out this color, but it's all speculation

Red Sea's Reef Program claims to do this by creating a low nutrient system and by clearing the water column as to intensify the lighting the coral receive. The coral in turn get better colors. Their system is very similar to the Koralin Zucht/ Zeovit type system.

I'm not a chemist or marine biologist, so don't quote me on any of that. Haha. ;)

+1 I have seen many posts on supplements bringing out certain colors like potassium bringing out purples and Lugols bringing out green. I dosed both in the past but never found that to be the case. You can make your colors deeper and darker by feeding more or make them pale or pastel by starving the coral. I think the biggest way is lighting like stated above by Renegade. You will see people with T5 setups that give their tanks amazing but almost an unreal color and look.

Exactly it's all about lighting, Recent studies show different colors respond to different spectrum. Dana Riddle has a whole series of articles on those studies on Advanced Aquarist
