Any Good Calcium Reactors?

Also those wika gauges are nice but to me it's not necessary because once you are happy with your bubbles...I never have to look back again simply because it's truly "set and forget" so I hardly have to look at my gauges again.

that's the Frankenstein version of the calcium reactor:D

Haha, it's a thing of beauty :)

However, it's 4 x the size of my old reactor but uses 3 x less CO2 because I only need to have the internal pH at 6.5 with a slow drip effluent rate.

I got some pointers from Bill Wann and he gave it the thumbs up, yay :)

Love my GEO618 it's a solid piece of equipment and if it matters to you its made in America

Nice!! I love the DIY. I did a kalk reactor and works perfect.

Bill Wann makes some great reactors BTW. It was just out of my league a little. But he can custom make it the way you want it and if you don't know he can show you his 20,000 Gallon private tank he constructed by himself.

All great information so far guys lets keep it going and maybe get more info about how to dial them in or help out some other guys that have no clue how to set one up. IMO Calcium reactors can be a bit challenging for some folks that have no clue what to do with one, any more information and knowledge base is welcomed.

Dude........... that was deep, you made me cry.
Uhm yeah no doubt the Dastaco.
It really depends of the size of your tank but for the money you get it's really a nice reactor.
Simple and easy, you just tell it what ALK # you want your tank to run at and BINGO!

That regulator you are using is top notch but regulator's are another thread by themselves .
Yah ,Destaco if you have the budget for it . The OP only has a 90 so a Geo18 or a look at the Aquamaxx units might be worthwhile .
I wonder if Schuran reactors can still be had ?
For the life of me I cannot figure out why ppl buy expensive mag to add to the media . It's only dolomite .. an old school substrate for saltwater FO tanks.

I bought the 624 with the apex jr for premiumaquatics. Great setup. The only quirky part I could was that the effluent control valve needs to be opened all the way periodically due to buildup.

Other than that it's probably one of the best purchases I've made for my tank.

If you have to open the valve to release co2, then you are probably pumping in too much. When was the last time you calibrated your ph probe? I had a similar problem, found out my ph probe was off a bit. Once I calibrated the probe, it was good to go
