Any good starfish for a 15gal?

My tank is over a year of age now, it has alot of gha but my parameters are stable, any possible options?

Starfish are generally carnivores. You can always get a serpent or brittle star though you'll need to target feed it in a small tank. Also many species get massive.

If you you’re trying to combat GHA, get an urchin. It’s an echinoderm, like starfishes, but will decimate algae. But be forewarned, they can eat coralline algae, and they like to pick frags up and wear them as camouflage.

I was doing some research about an orange type I saw at my lfs it was around 1 inch in diameter looked amazing

Probably a Fromia... definitely very difficult to care for and depending on species very, very difficult

They are very small, I have a 13.5 gallon and it has done fantastic for three months. He eats algae like crazy and doesn’t bother my corals. Occasionally he does grab my snail and wear it as a hat.

I think it was a bit smoother, it was on the glass and I think it was a bit more orange

Oh ebay sounds like an interesting place to look for inverts! I may try it next year(ran out of budget this year lol)

Most LFS have pincushions, and I even saw a few at petco the other day! Most saltwater fish stores online carry them, but shipping is usually outrageous.

For algae an urchin is best not a starfish. Did the orange starfish look like this? Enchinaster sp./orange starfish. It could have been an orange luzon too or an orange linckia none of which are suited for a nano and are more difficult to keep.

Yea I do not think most of the larger starfish can survive for long in a small tank and believe it or not astrinia are probably your best bet

Yes exactly like that(second pic)! Interesting! Maybe once I get a larger tank I will get one thanks! As for the urchin I'm going to gloe down all my corals and then wait a few months before thinking of getting one thank you!!
