Any hope for my wall hammer?

Purchased a nice orange wall hammer about three months ago. It's been doing wonderfully..until it wasn't. A couple days ago it started developing a bare spot in the middle..this morning one side of the polyps was pretty much gone. I decided to frag it and dip it before it lost any more. I have never fragged anything and heard walls can be very difficult..now after 3 hours the side that is left is fully open again..is there hope for survival? These are before and after shots

There is hope for survival yes. You had to cut into tissue to frag it, whatever was the issue there before may still be there. Your biggest threat is likely infection.

Correct and staple water parameters could go a long way toward healing. Just keep an eye on it because if it turns bad it will turn quickly.

How is the hammer doing currently? Did it make it?
