I sold this hammer to someone last night. It had been in my tank for 3 months nice and healthy. He just sent me this pic of it. It looks terrible. Does anyone think it will survive?

Try low flow shade area. To me this looks like when you take it out of the water and are not careful and the pollups collapse outside the skeletal base.

it does look pretty terrible, maybe could pull through, but not in that tank. From the white sand and green rock in the pic, I would take a wild guess that the tank was not ready for corals

Maybe just a difference in parameters. That pic was before his lights turned on. He just sent me this one. Definitely looks better. I know he has about a 45 minute drive so that probably didn’t help. I’ll mention to put it in a low shade spot. He bought an acan and a zoa frag a month ago and they’re doing great

Looks a lot better here. Maybe it just retracts weirdly? This doesn't look too unhealthy or dying anymore its sort of like STN on acros that eventually goes away. I see no brown jelly or flesh hanging off like you usually see with a dying hammer.
