I recently started up my 100 gallon and I bought some used to live rock and this birds nest was still attached to one of the rock it looks pretty sick is there anything that can be done to save him

You need to rid the tank of algae. There is not much you can do with the birdsnest. Have you tested all your water parameters? Do you use ro water? I think your water chemistry is off and you need to get back on track.
 
I just got the tank running and finish the nitrogen cycle last week the algae is from the live rock that I purchased to seed my dead live rock all the primers test fine but my temperature is a little high
 
Test for phosphates and nitrates. Be stingy with your feeding. Algae is caused by excess nutrients. In time it will go away if you get everything in balance.
 
Birdsnest can be a tough cookie, he may sitll be ok. But I agree, ya gotta get those Phosphates under .10, below .05 would be ideal if you could.
