Any idea what could be on this Zoa?

I've had this zoa for about 6 months and got it with 9 polyps on it and it took off. But tonight I saw something on it I never noticed.

It's got a tube like structure on the bottle and bold black area on it with polyps growing around it. Is it bad for the colony?

Any idea what it could be?

The polyps are attached to it but I can't see under it. I'm to pop the colony off the rock tomorrow and take a look at it.

But I think it might be. What could that be?

It looks like it could be a worm of some kind. The object is its tube or casing.

It might be a feather duster. Keep an eye on it

I've never seen anything come in or out of it.

This is what came off the colony.

No idea what it is but it has a dark black hole going through it into some type of pocket like thing.

Hopefully my polyps survive the surgery.

Pretty much. Just hard as a rock. I broke it into pieces trying to find a creature inside but nothing was home. Now just hoping my polyps survive they're slowly opening up already. Should be a good sign.
