First off I'll say I have a guess but I won't say what I think it is yet. I'd like to see if anyone else has seen this before. It's not coraline algae and I can remove them whole with a little brushing or my fingernail.

Small purple/whitish spots. Perfectly round. Attached mostly to rock surfaces. I don't see any on the glass or eggcrate.

Just a guess, a species of flatworm.

Do you think it's algae or animal?

Could they be a polyp type coral that reproduced sexualy and thus is all over the tank?

Possibly a type of Foraminiferan.
