I have couple of these growing on a rock in the back of my tank. Any idea what it is?

Thx Tahoe61! Maybe a type of tunicate. I don't think it's a sponge only because it grows from a 'stem' attached to the rock. I have to try to get a better pic. I took this with my phone because it is 100x easier to uplaod a photo from there. So it is not the best quality picture.

Oh yea ...please post another picture

Thx Lionfish! I have had this rock for 7 years and never noticed it before! That's one of the best benefits of live rock! It just keeps giving and giving

Are tunicates hardy? Can they be cared for and propagated?

Most do not like a lot of light so they don't grow well in reef tanks. I have heard that Some people have/grow them in their sump

Yeah. Was reading about their nutritional requirements as well. Perhaps it would require a dedicated tank. Beautiful variety though!
