just added this Leather to my tank, and has this little guy growing next to it... any ideas what it is? Should I remove it ?

yes almost all zoanthids / palythoas contain different amounts of palytoxin which can be harmful. there are some good stickies in the zoanthid forum about it

That variety of paly is unlikely to contain enough toxin to hurt anything I'd say score!!
