It was dry rock just pursued from bulk reef supply. Sorry about the picture quality. It’s alive and the filter wasn’t used in over a year till yesterday. The picture doesn't give much detail to determine what it is. Is it alive? If so I seriously doupt it survived a vinegar bath for 2 days. I'd think a change in flow flushed it out of the rock.
Sorry about the picture quality new to reefingYeah, not really possible to ID from that picture. Almost looks like a beetle larva or something.
Yeah I’ll try that tomorrow no livestock in the tank yet so I’ll have to get a netCan you place it in a container for a picture?
DryWas the sand dry or live?
Should I toss it. My sons really interested in it and I have no livestock in the tank yet. I’m in about one week of my cycle.Looks like the larvae of a Dermestid beetle. They feed on decaying organics. Wouldn't surprise me to see some in dry rock or a previously used, stored filter. It won't be alive for long.
I’ll get it out and set it free don’t want anything dying in my tank before I even add anythingIt will die in there
It’s up under my rocks so no chance getting a better picture. I’ll keep an eye on it. It’s been in there for three days so apparently it’s okayPhotograph it first so we can try to figure out what it is. Just pop a picture up real quick.
