Any idea what this parasite on snail is?

Just got this turban snail as part of a cleanup crew for new tank. Quickly noticed this polyp like parasite growing on its back. It retracts and extends into the body, and is very sensitive to light. Any idea what it is?

Thank you very much for the input! I was afraid it was something harmful- I’ll try to leave it.
I had some asterina starfish come in on the same group of snails and decided to remove them.
 
Good call on the asterinas. They can overpopulate pretty quickly in a higher nutrient system.
 
Quick update on this thread- apparently the snail that had that tube worm changed into a hermit crab over night! Too bad I liked that snail because it was so easy to identify. Perhaps I should get some empty shells in my tank.
