Welcome to R2R! Sometimes "white slime" which actually is a bacteria, can be caused by various room air fresheners, carpet cleaners, etc. and other alcohol based cleaners being used in the area of the fish tank.

Hmmm. I don't recall any of that being used in the house. We have hardwood floors, don't burn candles, dont smoke, and wont let my wife use air freshenrs because of the tank... bit thats awesome to know, thanks!

Thanks Bruce, I guess its possible... never thought of that. Yes its a new tank. 90 gallon and a 20 gallon fuge. I have 80lbs of dry rock that I cured for almost 6 months then after I put it in the tank I cycled the tank 4.5 months. I added stock slowly after my parameters were all acceptable. Its been 4.5 months and I have 1 clown, 1 sailfin tang, a 6 line wrass and a coral beauty angel, 2 emerald crabs, a Sally lightfoot, 5 bumbel bee snails, 6 zombie snails a serpent star and 2 urchins. 3 peppermint shrimp and a blood shrimp... In my fuge I have an emeral crab, zombie snail and a pepermint shrimp and some cheto I tested everything tonight: 1.025, 78.3°, NH=0, NO3=10MG/L, NO2=0, PO4=0, KH=8.5
