My wife just sent me this pic of our home DT. Sorry about the quality but it was texted from her phone.
Anyway, I have no idea what this is. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
What is it? Is it harmful to the rest of the tank inhabitants (fish, inverts and some softies)
Based on where it is in the tank, I suspect it is at least 1"Ø.

It is harmless. We have a ton of them in our reef

Either it wasn't there yesterday, or I'm loosing my mind. Plus my wife doesn't miss a thing when it comes to that aquarium.
So unless sponges can grow to that size overnight, I think it's on the move. Although it does have tentacle like extensions that appear to anchor it to the rock.
I dunno. It's almost quitting time so I can go home and check it out myself.
