Any ideas on what this snail would be?

Put a New rock in my tank a few days ago... Today when feeding this guy popped out of the sand. Sorry for the poor colors. Hes white and copper about 2 inches.

Nassarius Snail with a really cool shell

Cool thanks! I had looked around and though it could be a Nassarius snail but i was not sure how much variation in color they could have !

Definitely not a nassarius. It’s an olive snail

Do you have any pictures under white light? Look up Nassarius vs Whelk. Hard to tell in that picture, but a Whelk will have a bold pattern 'tattooed' look. Where as Nassarius will be more solid gray.

Definitely not a nassarius. It’s an olive snail

I cant find him to try to get a better white pic. Looks like an olive tho.... will it eat my claim?!

yeah not looking like i can keep this guy, seems they are quite the hunters! Now i have a hidden assassin in my tank i hope i can find him before he does any damage.
