Any ideas what happened to this goni?

This small goni was totally fine on the sandbed. I moved it to the rocks and about a week later it seemed to just melt down with more or less a pink (goni was pink) mess sloughing away, looking a bit like cyano or slime algae. It was dead and down to a skeleton in two days. All parameters are stable. The only thing I can think of is could the acan to the left of it reached it overnight and nuked it? It’s about 2-3” away.

That looks like it was stung to death by the acan. I had a goni do this exact same thing to another goni. Looked like it melted just like this.

Thanks Mate. That was my best guess too - I didn’t realise acans could reach out like that but it makes sense. It was gone in less than 24 hours. Did yours sort of turn into a melting mess then just slough away?

Yup. Tossed it before it did any other damage. I was a bit shocked because I thought gonis could touch each other. Then I find out that the red/pink variety can be more aggressive. And that's what happened. The pink killed the tan/green goni.
I currently have a pink goni touching a cotton candy (orange/pink) goni without any issues. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
