This green stuff is in my tank. Wasn’t there before. Is smooth and not hairy or fuzzy. Any ideas as to what it is.

Is it bad or good

It's not bad, part of the maturing process of a news tank typically. Pick up some snails if it gets too much.

I have snails in the tank yet they don’t touch it. Added some more tonight hoping they do something lol.

Wait until your tank ages more and more. You’ll long for the green film algae days. Eventually things turn brown. Then green. Then brown. Maybe purple or red. As your tank progresses, that green algae will see competition from other walks of life including: other algae’s, bacteria, hitchhikers of all sorts. My advice, don’t go crazy trying to fix it by adding all sorts of things or chemicals. Just let it be.
