I have a frag of L A Lakers started with 5 polyps and now grow to 15 polyps. Colour is nice but not very bright at all. When i searched on internet photos Lakers look very bright so just want to get a second opinion whether they are bright in person or it is just Internet photos are a bit colour enhanced ?

They're yellow. Brightness has to do with lights and water quality. Or photoshop lol. In my opinion as long as they grow they're fine.

Thank you. Does high or low light bring out the brightness?
Wherever you have them it's fine. If they're happy there leave them alone. If you start moving them they might not like where you put them and melt. They will color up where you have them just give them time

There were mine at their peak. I reacently had some water quality issues and Zoe Eating Nutibranch :( They are on their way back now. No photoshop here. Just straight from the camera. These were kept 5 inches below the water line and right under a Radion puck at 55%. Now they are under T5 and I'm still waiting to see how they react.

Were yr Lakers bright under Radion light? I use the same light but colour is dull and frills are very short.

They were. Just as the image is showing. Now the frills are short on mine becuase of the ZEN made dinner of them. Thankfully the colony survived and they are making a come back. This is them now. Just a quick iphone picture.

How does brightness of Lakers compare to Mascaws zoa for eg? It will give me a clearer idea about its brightness, thanks mate.

Old thread.. but I find mine very odd. They're tiny polyps compared to anything I have. I never saw polyp sizes until I see the pics above. Here's mine. You can see they're tiny.
