Any luck with bio media in a reactor?

I got my aquamaxx reactor today and it’s so small I can add a second one to hang on the back. I’m not saying I’m gonna, but I will if I can fill it with bio media and actually get results. Have you guys ever put bio media in the reactor and gotten good results?

Or is the space better used for a refugium....this is a FOWLR tank.

I use bio pellets which work great. Start with a little and add more a few months.

I keep a reactor full of bio rings on my tank as a reservoir of bio media for my QT tanks. Functions just fine.

Good. I just want a smaller foot print so I can add a hob refugium
