I'd like to find one for possible trade. I've got a bunch of odd and end stuff I'd give...

Have you ever used one Chad?

Everything I read says they are awesome for the first couple months, then the impellers break. Also seen a few threads around here about rusty magnets scratching glass on brand new tanks.

The cross flow pumps have been on my radar since release, just never pulled three trigger for the above reasons.

Update us if you find one, I'll follow this thread for updates!

I was using them for several months now and I like them with the only issue being that they tend to need cleaning more frequently or you get a significant drop in flow rate and have recently upgraded to MP40's due to this issue.

@Titanwerx , thanks for your input, seems to be the general consensus.

I love my hobby so much that i switched my career to the industry. And I still just cringe at the ecotech price tags. So many wetside/dryside issues and etc I just get the jitters thinking about a 500 dollar power head lol

I agree, the price is nuts, that's why mine are used, still expensive but much better than retail price. I don't see prices getting any better until a viable competitor joins in and Ecotech knows it! Maxspect has potential with their cross flows but needs improvement.
