Anyone know of a good thread or website that ID's microbes found in the saltwater aquarium. Something similar to the amazing hitchhiker website @Lionfish Lair created.
I think at least two of the videos below are dino's but will know for sure when some other people look at the videos.

I did. The triangle is probably a diatom and the little green circles are probably phytoplankton
Yep, the triangle is a diatom. Pretty common one. The other is a type of phytoplankton but that's a very broad term that encompasses good and bad types.

First thing I think if when seeing that video is Tetraselmis sp.

Have you ever dosed phyto from algae barn or other phyto in a bag? Otherwise its come in on its own which is a good kind.

Yes I have added pods from Algagen (which had green stuff floating in it for them to eat) and also Cheato, which I believe was also from there (but I'm not positive since my LFS ordered it) At any rate, I didn't rinse the Cheato and it had stuff all over it. In hindsight, maybe I should have rinsed it. I have had terrible trouble with corals dying quickly and I can't keep the glass clean to save my life.

I made a thread about the issues I have been having with corals. I have all but decided it's a pest in the tank, either eating it or releasing a toxin. Good to know these guys aren't the problem. That narrows it down more...

I would like to know how I could control these Tetraselmis better than I am. More PODs or something? Having to clean the glass every day is ridiculous.
