So, it's been a month since we've removed the socks from our sump. We don't have cups either. Just a bunch of marine pure blocks in each section of our sump on our 220.6 Reef Pro. My question to you guys is... Has anyone out there modified their Waterbox sump? Have you gotten rid of the sump completely? I feel like there's so much wasted space now. I would love to be able to utilize that space with a reactor, etc.

Bonus points to those of you who post pictures of your setups. :)

I completely removed every baffle from the sump and replaced them with a custom acrylic baffle. It allowed me to fit a filter roller, refugium, and the exact skimmer and reactor I wanted.

Here are the pics.

Looks great! How long have you had it running? Are you happy with the performance? Anything you would change? Did you silicone it yourself? How much did the custom insert cost if you don't mind me asking? (Sorry for all the questions)

I think I had it running since October.

I love the performance, easy water flow, adjustable baffles. (I moved the ATO container to the side cabinet, I have the 135.4).

I did do the silicone myself and thats the only part I would have changed. Definitely take your time and practice with it. Mine is not as clean as I would have liked.

I don't recall his name but I believe he is on ebay. I want to say they were roughly $40-70? The guy I used is located in Jax and makes acrylic kits for 40B, 30G and 20L sumps.

Remember acrylic expands so make sure you tell whoever cuts them that they are going in glass, and design it to leave plenty of safety room when you turn the return off that it will not overflow!

Can you just cut the silicone with a razor to remove the original baffles?
