6 Stage 75GPD Drinking & Reef RO/DI System - Bulk Reef Supply

anyone use it? Is it enough filtration?

ive seen people saying get the 7 stage system but if I want both drinking water and reef water this is the option on the brs website

any recommendations?

you can actually use any of the RO/DI units. Doesnt matter the 'stage count'.

You just put a tee between the RO Membrane output and the DI resin section and add a valve on the DI side and on the Drinking water line.

When you want RO water to drink, you close the DI valve and open the 'drinking water' line/valve. When you want RO/DI tank water, then close the valve for the RO drinking line, and open the DI line.

Thats what i do anyway, works really well for us.

I have done this with a 5 stage, and now my current system which is a overkill 7 stage :). You dont need that many stages, but does depend on your water source (3 stages of mine are just for different DI resins)

The type of stage is much more important than the number. I personally run 8 stages: one sediment, two carbon, one RO membrane, and four DI stages.

How many stages do you actually need? That's a different story. Most people will probably be served just fine by a 5 stage system (1 sediment, 2 carbon, 75 GPD membrane, 1 DI). I might add another DI stage so you have some extra protection when the first exhausts, but that should serve your needs just fine.

Under no circumstances would I buy a dual membrane system. They're unnecessary in all but the most unusual circumstances. If you want to reduce your waste water, just buy a really low-flow flow restrictor. You'll choke your membrane and kill it early, just like the dual membrane setup. The only real difference is the flow restrictor only costs you like $10 as opposed to $50 or more for the dual membrane upgrade.

contact Russ @Buckeye Hydro they can put together you a system based on your water and needs.

I agree with @chipmunkofdoom2 I run a similar system sediment, carbon, carbon, RO tee to drinking water and dual DI.
