Anybody know of a cheaper tool to cut coral with? I was wondering if there is a cheaper bandsaw that works great or something similar, so I dont have to fork over 400 dollars for that gryphon aquasaw. Thanks for your help!

What type of coral are you trying to cut?

It does really all depend on the coral you are trying to cut. The only real solution for cutting Favia, scroll, Acan and the like is the expensive wet band type. Unless you are cutting small sections that won't generate a bunch of heat, it is the best bet for clean cuts close to the margins. any band saw will work it just depends on how much damage to the coral you are willing to do. The ol' hammer and chisel work in a pinch. For any other coral, hack, snip, clip, break away.

I was trying to think of safe way to cut favia and incrusting montipora mostly.
Hammer and chisel. It's worked for me. A little messy but it works, mostly.
