Hi all,

I just started to add some SPS in my 8 months old 250L tank.
Already has red monti cap, forest fire digitata, purple-ish/green-ish millepora and a pink birdsnest.
Thinking to add a yellow SPS.
Is there any popular yellow SPS that is easy to find and not extremely difficult to keep?
Is there anything special about keeping a yellow SPS? like lighting, etc?

Many thanks

Not necessarily popular, but the ORA Yellow Porites is a clean yellow with a different architecture very tolerant of high light and flow. Pretty easy and forgiving: (it’s behind the blue Hawkins echinata )

If you consider leptoseris an sps, then 24k or yellow lepto are a nice encrusting option.

For daylight lighting
Ora Montipora lantana and Ora yellow porites

For blue lights
Lots depending on your budget and difficulty
From unique coral beehive to battle corals gilded lilly and lots in between.
Golden rod anacopora.
Or green goblin/electric green anacopora can be very yellow green and low demanding/budget friendly.

The Pikachu Acro is a great yellow sps

Bring in Australia, you won't be able to get anything from Battlecorals.

You can't go wrong with a Pink Lemonade acro. It's easy to find, inexpensive, fast-grower and extremely hardy for an acro. Pink Floyd is pretty but I've found it to be finicky and a very slow grower.

I've had both of these pieces for a few years and you can see the difference in growth rate. The Pink Floyd stayed dormant for at least a year before deciding to grow - a little. YMMV.

Based on the corals you have, I would also suggest Burning Banana Stylocoeniella. It gets nice yellow tissue with bright red polyps and is easy to keep. So it will go well your other SPS.

It is an encrusting coral though, so if you want height, have it grow over something.

If you're looking at yellow ideas, check out frag garage. He is in canada, but you can get some ideas on what is out there from his site

If you are looking for awesome high end acros for a fraction of the cost from the big coral shops. Then you gotta check out these two shops. Fraghouse corals and SBB corals. I've ordered from dozens of shops but these are my favorite. Fraghouse has the Pink Floyd- which is really yellow ( I have one) and also the Pikachu. SBB corals has one called the Bubble Bee which is my favorite and already entrusting. You have to catch their sales for the best deals, but hands down the best for acropora!

For "easier to keep" yellows, yellow porites is great. However, it's only yellow under daylight. Just turns greenish under actinic.
There are several very nice yellow Montipora variants. Beach Bum is one that comes to mind.
I think most true yellow acros are more difficult to keep with the exception of pink Lemonade.
