I have a 30 gallon long tank with 20 pounds mixed live and dead rock established 8 months ago. It’s home to 1 percola clown, 1 misbar clown, 1 ruby red dragonet, 1 neon dotty back, 1 bubble tip anemone, 1 skunk shrimp, 1 blood shrimp , 1 fromia star, 1 hammer coral, 1 green star polyp, 1 cluster zoa and the usual clean up crew. Water parameters are stable. I feed mysis, spirinula, baby brine that I grow, phytofeast once a week and frozen wild caught Shrimp pieces for the anemone. I add a bottle of copepods ever other month.

The ruby red dragonet has a feeder for the baby brine and actually eats frozen mysis. It quite fun to watch and yes I know I’m very fortunate that he eats them. I’ve kept him fat and happy for over 3 months now. No lateral line showing. Just an active fat fish. I’d like to add a mandarin. Do you forsee any problems? Thanks advice. It has helped me avoid many mistakes.

Seems like you’re trying to push the limits for your tank. 1st the sea horse, now a mandarin.
Adding a mandarin would just cause problems for your ruby red. There food source will wither away and they’ll both compete for food. It’s best to keep your live stock where it’s at now.

Absolutely Problematic. It would be near impossible to keep 2 voracious pod eaters in such a small tank. Your tank is suited for the pod eater that it has, no more.
