Any problems with hanging lights from ceiling with ati hanging kit?

I would scab some 2x4's in between your rafters then screw into the 2x4's. Your light won't go anywhere then.

I hung my 60" 8x80w fixture from the dry wall without issue. I used 2 YoYo's from the hydroponic store and hung them with 3/16" toggles and 3/16 eye bolts. I like the YoYo's because I can raise and lower the lights to work on the tank when needed..

I have a 48in Giesemann Spectra and a 24in ATI hung with toggle bolts in the drywall ceiling. No worries. Next tank will be need a 6ft light though. I don't feel comfortable with that so I was going to use some decorative wood to the studs and then the light to said wood. Now that I see the 80/20 idea thats def the way ill be going.

Just used standard toggles from my 6x54 and was suprised how well they hold. I gave them a good solid tug and have no worries about them. As long as the sheetrock is in good shape and you drill the smallest hole needed so that you dont degrade the integrity of said sheetrock these mounts should work very well.

Would anyone use the toggle bolts on an angled ceiling? It'll be for a 8x80 fixture with 4 hydra 26 modded in.

I went in the attic and screwed in 2x4’s for peace of mind. I raise and lower my light on occasion and do not trust the dry wall alone.

I have my ati 6 bulb hanging from the ceiling with the flip out not sure what they are called . No problem at all. What I'm "most interested" in is how those adjustable hangers work. never could see how they work. any info on install & adjust?

It’s REALLY hard to pull toggle bolts out of drywall when you want to. I mean grown man, all your weight hard. Think of it in terms of ATIs liability. It’s an electric fixture they recommend hanging (DIY style) over a large volume of salt water. The included toggle bolts are several times stronger than what would reasonably be needed.

I wonder about this also, i wpuld suggest getting a stud finder, yoh can get one at home depot or lowes, screw in a bolt to the stud then hang the light, if you do that you wont have to worry about the weight.
