That may have to do with the concentration you're feeding them in. My orangeshoulder tang will zoom around snacking on the 2-3 day old shrimp if there's enough in the tank to catch her attention. The smaller fish will notice right away. A 2.5 gallon tank with sponge filter is sufficient to raise the shrimp to be older (provided they have yeast or spirulina to munch)

I just threw eggs in a bucket years ago with a airstone and left them. They breed over and over and never once fed them

BBS is the ultimate food source in my opinion. Only issue is the egg sack burns out in a couple days. There's no amount of gut loading that will ever replicate the nutritional value of that egg sack.

So my first batch hatched yesterday, easy as can be. They were so small my fish did not go after them.

Try turning the pumps off. It may take a few feedings. Can also mix with food your fish are already eating
