Looking for any suggestions on feeding with an overflow. Does everyone just shut down the filter so it does not get sucked right into overflow?..or any other ideas?..also if thats the case I guess I would never be able to have an autofeeder right?

Feed something that sinks or use a feeding ring that keeps the food contained. If you have good flow in the tank most of the food won't go straight to the overflow.

I'd turn off the return pump from the sump for about 5min but leave the flow pumps in the tank on. This way the food doesn't go directly down to the sump where fish can't get to it yet it's still stirring in the display without a chance to settle in the sand. DO NOT FORGET TO TURN IT BACK ON. Specially if you keep your heater and other important equipment in the sump.

I use a combo of nls thera a sinking pellets and a little bit of flake. In both cases, I simply submerge the pellets or flake with my fingers so that way they stay suspended in the water without floating on the top. Just gotta be careful cause my dang fire cardinal bites me all the time.
