Hi all, I wondered if anyone could help please, this has appeared on the side of my Coral beauty, has she's been nipped as her tail looks like it has been as well, or is there something more sinister to worry about?

She is swimming and eating fine and not rubbing against rocks or anything?

I've not seen anything chasing her, unless she goes to close to our tomato clowns nem??

Thanks Aaron

The spot on its belly? How long have you had the fish? While it could have started as a sting or a bite, it could be infected. You may not see any chasing, it can happen so fast.

Looks like an open sore in progress and could develop into an infection
Assure water quality is good and I would consider maracyn 2 or similar

It looks more pronounced in this second photo, more of a protrusion. Best thing would be to move it to an isolation tank and treat with a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic such as furan-2, Maracyn 2, or Neoplex. Not really anything you can do for it in your display other than to give it suportive care; feed it well and ensure the other fish don’t bully it.

Unfortunately I don't have an isolation tank or sump at the moment, im still new to this and the sump is next on my agenda now I have recognised the need for it.
