I got a polyp of a scarface paly several weeks back and it opened almost immediately upon being placed in my tank, but the past few days it has stayed closed up. All other/zoas and palys in the tank are opened and happy as can be. MY parameters are in order so I don't think thats it. I moved the coral out of the flow a little bit more yesterday to see if that would help and i haven't seen it open up today either. This is how my darth mauls disappeared, the single polyp quickly turned into 3 polyps and then over a couple of days they stayed closed and melted away. I don't really want to lose this piece. When I noticed it starting to close up was the other day when I noticed it looks like it is about to kick out a baby polyp, does this have anything to do with it being closed for several days? any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Ricky

Scarfaces i have noticed dont light high light, i have some under my LEDs @ lowest setting and under MH they were in a cave.

They were at the bottom of my tank under 6 t5s. I moved them to the shade out of higher flow a few days ago with no results, do this morning I tried a little more light but not as much as it was receiving to see if that helps

Are they looking like they are " shrinking"? Mine did when I first got them, but after a few lugols dips they did well.

Add a drop of lugols iodine to the tank, i do two drops once a month in my 120 and it makes the softies pretty happy

It never looked like it was shrinking, but it seems to have made a full recovery. I moved it higher up in the tank and into a little higher flow that what they were at the bottom of the tank. The single polyp is doing much better and has started budding out a baby. It all appears to be good
