Decided to take the flashlight to the tank tonight before bed. Saw what I thought was a mushroom popping it's head out of a hole in a rock. That rock had been in my tank for over 4 months and I have never seen anything there before. So I watched it and noticed it was slowly moving. I sucked it out with a turkey baster after i figured out it was a nudibranch. Too many zoas in there to risk it.

It's very likely it's been in there since the tank was setup and is harmless. Every frag that has gone into my tank has been dipped in Bayer and revive.

Figured I'd throw a pic out there and see what everyone thought. He's in a cup so if he's harmless I'll toss him back in.

Looks like a nudibranch to me. Not positive what "kind". I wouldn't put it back in the tank. Keep an eye on your zoas for any damage and also do a few more checks with the flashlight at night to make sure there's not more hiding.

Yeah I guess since there's no way to be positive that it's harmless guess he needs to take a ride down the porcelain express.

Kinda looks like a young Sea Hare, but no way to know for sure.

Yeah that's what I was trying to think of. Just looked up some pics of some babies and they are identical. I haven't had a single damaged zoa yetamd some have been in there for almost 4 months. I also haven't added rock in 4 months so I'm sure he's fine.

It's a nudibranch, and while I'm not sure on the specific ID, usually ones like these are an algae eating variety.

Yeah he's a cool little guy. Glad I put him back in there. Any idea how big they will get?
